Project Manager with 4 years comprehensive experience delivering a diverse array of projects. Recently made a bold move to change industries, going from Defence to Construction, to expand my knowledge and understanding of project management and developing myself further as a PM.

I personally love hearing about other people’s experiences, particularly women in the workplace, so I was delighted to be asked to join this conversation!

What is your project management super power?

An equilibrium of empathy and pragmatism.

How can gender diversity be improved in the project management profession?

More women in senior leadership positions and enhance awareness of the discipline as a career choice throughout higher education.

As the profession evolves, what skills do you think will be key for future success?

Understanding the impact and how to develop a business continuity plan for emergent global trends, such as climate change or advancements in technology. Continue to use other methods of communication out with emails! Researching changing motivational factors for multi-generation workplace.

How do you recover from difficult situations?

Reflect on the situation. Learn from experience. Keep regular communication with stakeholders. Plan for the future.

What are your tips and techniques for conflict resolution?

Plan, communicate and don’t be afraid to ask for help and escalate when required. Ensure all parties have a clear understanding of the scope, risks and project vision. Work together as a team to resolve the situation.

Which 3 words best describe why you enjoy being a project manager?

Problem-solving, communication, results!
