What is your project management super power?
Finish what you started.
How can gender diversity be improved in the project management profession?
It can be improved through awareness creation, currently there are few women in project management because there is no adequate information for women on how to join the profession. In the past, project management was mostly practiced in Engineering and IT industries and by default these were male dominated, thus male counterparts transitioned into managerial roles. Today project management is spread across the board, young women should believe in themselves and start taking up leadership roles in their organizations.
As the profession evolves, what skills do you think will be key for future success?
Leadership and Emotional Intelligence Skills.
How do you recover from difficult situations?
Firstly, I allow myself to be vulnerable (when i’m sad i express my emotions), after that i bounce back quickly by always remembering why i started. I am lucky to have supportive friends (Josefina, Salmi and Erastus) they always give me positive advice every time i encounter difficulty on my projects.
What are your tips and techniques for conflict resolution?
Listen to all parties involved and strive for a solution that is suitable for all parties involved. Do not avoid conflict, be willing to feel uncomfortable in a given situation.
Which 3 words best describe why you enjoy being a project manager?
Envisioning, Planning and Taking Massive Action.
