Hi, I am Annie and I have been working in project management my whole career. I particularly love the people aspect of project management and I grow my interest through my volunteer work with the special interest group People SIG which is run and funded by the Association of Project Management. I currently work in research, and after completing my Agile Practitioner Certification I am keen to see how I can use it in my role in higher education and research. I love to network and always welcome contact from other PMs and project professionals.

See Annie’s 2018 and 2019 Celebrating Women In Project Management Event profiles.

What is your project management super power?

Trying not to sweat the small stuff, an eery ability to schedule stuff.

How can gender diversity be improved in the project management profession?

More equal opportunities, and I mean from school age too. There needs to be access to opportunities for all – not just the privileged.

As the profession evolves, what skills do you think will be key for future success?

Working with AI and a more remote way of working.

How do you recover from difficult situations?

I like to break it down in my head and see it from all points of view.

What are your tips and techniques for conflict resolution?

Active listening, I mean conflict means opposition of opinions. Hearing everyone’s side helps.

Which 3 words best describe why you enjoy being a project manager?

People, variety and unexpected.
