Echo Woolf has been a project manager for 8 years working with private, public and government organizations. She has made a career for herself in project management, with her most recent accomplishment of getting her PMP. Deciding she wanted to challenge herself further, she co-founded Freelance Sidekick, LLC which provides project management services, consulting along with coaching for the PMP exam. Project management to this day remains her passion and is something she continues to invest in.

What I enjoy most about being a project manager is:

Taking a concept/objective and bringing it to fruition.

The three most important skills I use to successfully deliver projects are:

Critical thinking, communication, planning

I build and nurture my professional network by:

Staying up to date on trends, attending events/conferences, collaborating on projects, learning and sharing experiences with other PM’s.

At the start of my career, the one thing I wish I had known is:

To be great at project management you have to be great with people and navigating uncomfortable situations on a regular basis.

Women who have inspired me so far in my career journey are:

My mentor.

The most valuable advice I have ever been given is:

As a woman, you won’t get noticed and promoted simply by doing well as a project manager. You have to be upfront about what you bring to the table and what you want in your career.

My advice for women on finding success as a project manager is:

Stay confident, stand your ground!
