Bio:

I have worked in project and programme management based roles in the beauty industry for 15 years, currently as a Programme Manager for the beauty brand Liz Earle as part of Walgreens Boots Alliance, I live and work on the beautiful Isle of Wight with my husband, two children and three cats.

Why do you enjoy working in the field of project management?

Variety, every project is different.

What are your greatest achievements as a Project Manager?

Successfully setting up a PMO from scratch.

Why is a career as a Project Manager a great choice for women?

Wide variety of opportunities in different industries.

How can women stand out in the field of Project Management?

Apply skills and knowledge to many different projects, share those skills and knowledge with other women, use strengths e.g. soft skills and emotional intelligence to an advantage, embrace new technologies.

What are some of the challenges women face as Project Managers?

Project management is often in male dominated industries but can be applied in a wide variety of industries.

What can we do to help women to be exceptional Project Managers?

Promote project management as a career choice for young women entering the world of work, support each other through skills sharing and networking.

Any other comments about Women in Project Management?

Women bring a very different approach to project management, different skills and strengths and should not be underestimated.
