Project Management is my passion, especially in combination with HR Technology. Combining hard IT with HR as a people business, is always a challenge. I love to manage Change in Organizations by aligning People, Process and Technology. Knosters model for Change is one of my favoriete tools to diagnose struggles in projects as it is easy to understand for everyone involved in a project.
What I enjoy most about being a project manager is:
To facilitate and stimulate a situational group (like a project group is) to collaborate and achieve the common goals in a way that is not only professional, but fun as well.
The three most important skills I use to successfully deliver projects are:
Authenticity, communication, empathy. Working in projects is not daily business for everyone and as a project manager, I want everyone in the team to feel comfortable.
I build and nurture my professional network by:
LinkedIn, visiting conferences and personal meetings
At the start of my career, the one thing I wish I had known is:
Your OWN style is always better than a copied one
Women who have inspired me so far in my career journey are:
Wendy Aendekerk, Petra Kuijper, Heleen Mes
The most valuable advice I have ever been given is:
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, better an ‘oops’ than a ‘what if’.
My advice for women on finding success as a project manager is:
Of course a project manager needs a plan, but always follow your gut feeling and listen to you inner voice as it will always be completely honest with you.
