Bio:

I’m Ingrid Souza, 27, Production Engineer and MSc in Project Management. From Brazil and living in Portugal for 3 years. My passion in Project Management is to engage people through communication. I believe that success, accomplishment and outcomes become from a great teamwork developed by an efficient and effective communication management.

What is your project management super power?

Communication Management. Communicating we solve biggest part of our challenges providing space to new opportunities.

How can gender diversity be improved in the project management profession?

Teaching our girls that they can express themselves and their presence in school, community and university; Providing more space to woman in Manager positions; Encouraging women to support women in any kind of situation, manly in our profession field because we can and must help each other discouraging competitiveness. The goal is to be great next to each other.

As the profession evolves, what skills do you think will be key for future success?

Engagement, adaptation and continuous learning. Our profession evolves quickly as the world. Having these three skills I think that everyone can contribute to future success of project management, sustainability and environment.

How do you recover from difficult situations?

Being positive, always trying to see the learning of the situation. Keeping the faith that everything happens for a reason and I will be more strong, smart and better prepared for the next situation because these things won’t stop, they emerge in different times and situations and aspects of our lives. And also cooking 🙂

What are your tips and techniques for conflict resolution?

Listen to people. In almost 100% of conflicts people don’t listen, they just want to talk and provide their sides and/or point of view regarding the situation. And the truth is that the mostly conflicts start because someone don’t listened other providing real attention and importance

Which 3 words best describe why you enjoy being a project manager?

People, challenges and opportunities.
