More from Laura: Podcast episode #163 with Elise Stevens – How to start your project management consulting career.
What is your project management super power?
Ability to get PMs to think differently about themselves so that they become leaders instead of doers.
How can gender diversity be improved in the project management profession?
Stop looking at PM from a Technical Perspective and start highlighting women in other fields – health care, education, nonprofits, etc – some great PMs that are never highlighted.
As the profession evolves, what skills do you think will be key for future success?
Team building – clarity of focus – you are not just a project manager – you are a project manager with a focus.
How do you recover from difficult situations?
Start by eating myself to death – then pick myself up, determine what I can learn from the situation (and hope I never encounter or do the same thing again), and then ignore it. Move on and forget about it.
What are your tips and techniques for conflict resolution?
Talk it out.
Which 3 words best describe why you enjoy being a project manager?
Helping others succeed.
