Bio:

I have been a project manager for over twenty years. I’m specialized in organisational change management in healthcare, education and government.

Because I saw a lot of my fellow-project managers suffering from stress and difficulties, I developed an online program on how to lead projects with ease. It’s a soft skills program, covering themes like personal strenghts, group dynamics, influence styles and effective communication. Basically, participants learn how to find and embrace their own style of leadership in projects.

What I enjoy most about being a project manager is:

Being a project manager is the best job in the world, because of the opportunities to bring a positive movement in organisations. I find it very satisfying to achieve results and to leave organisations (sustainably) better than I found them.

The three most important skills I use to successfully deliver projects are:

Understanding the context of the project, being an excellent communicator and being results oriented without losing situational awareness

I build and nurture my professional network by:

Masterminding with fellow project managers, attending congresses, workshops and trainings on project management and coaching other project managers.

At the start of my career, the one thing I wish I had known is:

I don’t have to play a masculin role to be successful.

Women who have inspired me so far in my career journey are:

Women like Ariana Huffington and Sheryl Sandberg, of course Elise Stevens and Elizabeth Harrin.

The most valuable advice I have ever been given is:

Sometimes not acting and just letting it be is the best solution for a problem.

My advice for women on finding success as a project manager is:

Your femininity is your superpower. Be authentic and don’t be afraid to create your very own style of project management. Just let your results speak for themselves.
