I have been in Project Management for over ten years and in many different industries. I love the challenge each project brings and realising that everyone has something to contribute even if they are not totally aware of what it is. I am results driven but try and pay attention to process. I really apply project management methodology to most aspects of my life. It’s not deliberate: it just happens like that. Great skills to have I think.

What is your project management super power?

Building connections and collaborating & bringing disparate parties on board to achieve a common goal.

How can gender diversity be improved in the project management profession?

Clearly men and women think differently and by looking at things from a different perspective you can only broaden your views and move towards a more positive outcome.

As the profession evolves, what skills do you think will be key for future success?

Clarifying what is and is not up for negotiation and focusing efforts on creating win/win outcomes in the negotiable space.

How do you recover from difficult situations?

I don’t take things personally when it comes to work. I have done a lot of work in the emotional intelligence space so I understand that a lot of what happens in a day is not personal and I am the one who chooses how I respond to the difficult situations that arise.

What are your tips and techniques for conflict resolution?

Active listening to surface bottom line needs & concerns and making sure everyone involved feels heard. It sounds simple but its powerful.

Which 3 words best describe why you enjoy being a project manager?

Collaboration, learning, results.
