I enjoy creating high performance teams, challenge and motivate them and see them grow. I believe understanding your team on personal level is very important, as they are humans and not machines. Once you know them, protect them, it is easy to get work done as a team. I believe “Success goes to team and failures to PM”. Outside work, I do mentoring and coaching. Being gone thru very hard time in life, I understand importance of enjoying life and making every moment count. It also taught me do not take failures to the heart and success to the brain. Being a Domestic Violence survivor, I do work in community on a group helping for domestic Violence people. I do other community services and try to give back as much as I could. I enjoy rescuing animals, I’m a hiker and landscape photographer. (There are only 350 women in world).

What I enjoy most about being a project manager is:

Working with people and meeting the goals. I’ve seen how team can work cohesively and create synergy to achieve some of the impossible things. It is just fabulous to see when someone grows from nowhere to top and deliver.

The three most important skills I use to successfully deliver projects are:

Motivation, Leadership, Team Building

I build and nurture my professional network by:

Sharing, caring and learning. One gains more knowledge by sharing it. When I mentor younger kids, I learn a lot, as the questions they ask are so pure and honest.

At the start of my career, the one thing I wish I had known is:

Business side of the area I work in, especially here Insurance, P&C.

Women who have inspired me so far in my career journey are:

Mrs. Sudha Murthy – Intelligent, simple, down to earth woman.
Sheryl Sandberg – Who do not know her, first woman board member of Facebook

The most valuable advice I have ever been given is:

Never Ever Give Up.

My advice for women on finding success as a project manager is:

Stay true to who you are. Understand your strengths and have courage to stand for your values and your team.
